Welcome to Rosa Cintilante, a charming café nestled in the picturesque village of Aborim, Portugal. Located on rua padre francisco, this delightful spot offers a warm and inviting atmosphere that is perfect for coffee enthusiasts, pastry lovers, and weary travelers alike.

As you step inside Rosa Cintilante, you're enveloped by the sweet aroma of freshly brewed coffee and baked goods. The café boasts an array of cakes and pastries, each prepared with love and quality ingredients. Patrons rave about the famous Bolo Rei, a festive Portuguese cake that is a must-try. One satisfied customer, Timothy Goh, can attest to its delightful flavor: "The very friendly staff finally relented and sold me a slice (it is normally sold whole). Well, after a bite, we bought the rest of it!" It's not just the cake that shines; their expertly brewed coffee has garnered plenty of praise, making every sip a moment of bliss.

For breakfast or a light lunch, indulge in their delectable sandwiches, like the renowned cheese and ham creation that Joanna Sz describes as “absolute 10/10 and the best quality ham and cheese sandwich.” With its crisp bread and generous fillings, this sandwich will energize you for the day ahead. Pair it with a traditional Pastel de Nata, which one customer declared as "the best" they had encountered on their Camino journey. That rich, creamy custard, enveloped in flaky pastry, offers a sensory delight that cannot be missed.

But Rosa Cintilante is not just about the food; it’s about the experience. The friendly and efficient service creates a welcoming vibe that instantly makes you feel at home. Whether you're stopping in before embarking on the Camino or seeking a quiet corner to enjoy your breakfast, this café's inviting ambiance and attentive staff ensure a memorable visit. As Colin McIlwain puts it perfectly, “Great coffee and cakes. Very friendly and efficient service.”

For those who rise early, Rosa Cintilante opens its doors at 7 am, making it a great pit-stop for those heading to or from nearby Albergue Recoleta. Delicious pastries, quality coffee, and heartfelt hospitality await you at this small but remarkable café. Don’t miss out on the chance to enjoy a slice of local culture in every bite!

TheIr Bolo Rei is apparently famous and it is a must try. The very friendly staff finally relented and sold me a slice (it is normally sold whole). Well, after a bite, we bought the rest of it. Good coffee too!

Throughout the Camino, going from Porto, I stopped each morning for a cheese and ham sandwich. Rosa was absolute 10/10 and the best quality ham and cheese sandwich. Pastel de nata was delicious too, but had the winning pastel in Porto ;) The staff was very friendly and kind. Highly recommended

Best Pastel de Nata from the Camino, so far. They were open at 7am. This is a must stop after the Albergue Recoleta, just 3km after the Albergue.
